Today we have studied one of the most English lessons that language learners can benefit from it . this lesson is completely about corner of the corners used to build a sentence in English and it is the preposition. From this lesson we will learn about all different prepositions and their various uses with many examples.

Why we use the prepositions?
The use of the
prepositions in English is not much different from their uses in Arabic . It
always comes before the noun or the pronoun to explain the relationship between
the sentence before it and the sentence after it which is called with (
prepositional phrase ) and we will show this more through example:
- Sara put her glass on the table.
We may note from the previous example that the prepositions drag the sentence that follows and turn it in to ( prepositional phrase ) and it also explain the link between the Two sentences.
Kinds of the prepositions in English
First of all, we have to
know that the prepositions in English divided in to Two types:
First – ( Simple prepositions )
Simple prepositions are
multiple and the use, meaning of each one varies over the other and from the
most important:
( in – on – by – of – to – at – like – till )
Second – ( Compound prepositions )
For examples:
( After – before – against – among – behind – between )
Although we have reviewed the types and uses of ( prepositions ), the use of each one is different from the other. Each one refer to a particular thing and this is what we will recognize now.
Varies uses of prepositions
1- prepositions indicate to the time such as:
(
For – from – in – on – since – through- during – before – after – about )
- I studied French for three hours continuously .

We should also mention the exact use of both
( on – in – at )
On
→ it is used with days and events for example :
- My son goes to the club with his friends on Friday .
In
→ Used when talking about long period time over a
day like ( week – month – year – century ) for example:
- The vacation will begin in January .
At
→ Used with the clock and day for example :
- My father will be back from the hospital at 10 o'clock in the morning .
Also,
there are time expressions with more than preposition that are used to express
a specific time period or the beginning of an event such as :
)At the end of – at the beginning of – since the end of – in the event of )
2- Preposition refer to a particular purpose or reason and
always comes after it the infinitive such as:

In order to – so as to – for )
- Salma have to sleep early in order to travel .
3- Prepositions refer to the place such as :
(
Beside – amid – across – on – behind – around – about – above – along – into –
within )
- There is a new restaurant behind this mall.
Also,
there are expressions that used when we refer to the place like:
( in front of – in the middle – on the top of – at the end of )
